I know, I suck, but it’s been horrible busy around here and I apologize.
Baby Miles is now 30 weeks old, still in my belly and very active. I can’t wait to see his little face and figure out his personality. But first I might want to figure out the sleepless nights and feeding, correct? It’s going to be a major change for us but I am excited and ready for the challenge. He loves to kick a lot, especially when I am ready for bed. It’s a wonderful experience filled with ups and downs, but I am excited to have experienced it.
A Punkin Card Company will also go through some changes. We are currently closed for maternity leave on the website and will close on July 1st on the Etsy site. This way I can have some time to relax and enjoy the quiet before the baby arrives. My plan is to remain closed until the end of the year, but we’ll see how my creativeness goes. I might need an outlet for my small times alone, but we’ll see. Keep checking back. I will always be on facebook and posting when I can!
Hope you all have a blessed day!

I am so happy to announce that my little Punkin on the way is a BOY! My hubby and I wanted a boy so badly and our dream came true. Now I have the blessed assignment of decorating a boy’s nursery. My husband is a pilot and wanted a airplane themed room so badly, so how could I say no? We are going to use green, blue, and chocolate browns in the baby’s room. The walls are already painted a neutral brown with brown carpet, so interjecting some color will be easy! Here is a shot of our little man!

With this crazy winter ‘flash’ weather, I have been thinking about spring a lot lately. I love spring with the trees and flowers blooming, the birds back from southern climates, and the fact you can go outside and not freeze! My backyard is a total blank slate, so I plan on added some new flowers, trees, and garden items to our new little home. Currently there are three beds in the backyard. They are different sizes, but all really good t work with. When we bought the home they provided landscaping, but nothing that we really prefer. One by one, I will be removing the current landscaping to make way for plants that best fit our needs and likes.

First off is the sun/ shade bed. We determined that this bed, though currently gets a fair bit of shade, will become more full sun as the summer sun changes it hight over our house. Problems with this bed, there is a cable ‘green’ box for the neighboring houses in the middle of the bed, and it is encased on two sides by fence. We needed something bushy and full to eventually cover the green box but still allow access if the cable company needs to find it. Also, we needed something flowering for the back part of the bed to showcase in our breakfast room windows. I wanted to then add two layers under the ‘bushes’ to allow variation in the bed. Not just big bushy things.
We decided on some lovely camillas and trailing rosemary. I added three variations of camillas alone the 90 degree fence line. Both to allow lots of room to grow, but to cover up the cable box. Then slightly in front of the camillas and the cable box, I planted the trailing rosemary. It has beautiful purple blooms with the bees just love. This will work great as an added layer to the bed but also something we can cook with and dry out for smell goods.

Hopefully after a few months of sunshine and love, this garden will start to take shape. Stay tuned for more events from my little garden.

Well if you haven’t heard by now, I am excepting a new little Punkin in 8 to 9 months!! This will be our first baby and I am happy to say, I am SO EXCITED! I’ll be concentrating on A Punkin Card Company and creating new designs but also taking the time to experience this new phase of my life.
A Punkin Card Company will be taking some time off for the holidays starting December 15th through mid January. This is time I will use to catch up with family and friends, plus take a much needed break. The website, Etsy, and Artfire shops will all remain open, so feel free to shop if needed. Also, I am currently accepting Spring and Summer Wedding Orders. If you haven’t booked your yet, please do so to avoid any rush charges.
Have a Happy Holidays!!!

Don’t thing that I have stopped running since you haven’t heard about it. I am still out there trying to run my best, but instead of it getting easier, it is getting harder. The more I run the more tired I am. The more I walk, the more it hurts. But I am still out there giving it my best. From what I read, my body is trying to throw up the running. Hopefully after a few more weeks, I’ll be better then ever!

It’s that time of year. Turkeys are in the oven, the Wizard Of Oz is on five television channels, and our families are just about on our last nerves. But this is Thanksgiving! What else do you expect? Enjoy your turkeys, love your family, and think of watching the Wizard Of Oz to the Dark Side of the Moon. You’ll have a whole new prospective on life and doing acid.
Happy Gobble Day!

Today I am going to try running again. After talking with some friends, a guy who works at a running store, and reading all I can read about shin splints, I am going to give it another shot. From what I have found out, it’s beginner’s pains and I need to stretch some more before we run. Also, concrete versus ground does not seem to make a difference.
I am also going to exercise on our elliptical machine twice a week for 20 minutes each time. I love this machine. No impact and I can sing as loud as I want!! Plus, I am hoping this gives me the weight loss boost that I need. Seems like the cruise we just took has caught up with me. Also, Yoga twice a week. think that is enough?
What are your exercise tips?

Hurray! Today is Veteran’s Day.
I know some people argue about pulling out of the Middle East or bringing the troops home. Wondering what Prez Obama will do next. Higher taxes? Health care? Socialism? People, for this wonderful day honoring our Armed Forces, please keep this in mind: These brave and selfless men and women have sacrificed their lives to protect yours. It doesn’t matter if you are Left or Right, Black or Asian, polka dotted with a lazy eye, we need to give these people our respect.
When was the last time you sacrificed yourself for the good of others? When was the last time you took a bullet for a fellow human being? When was the last time you stopped and thought about what it takes to be an American?
I am not saying we should all agree, that is not the American spirit, what I am saying is we should all respect. Do something good for an American or Veteran today. Donate your time, call your loved ones, and remeber the fighting past their brave men and women fought for. Because if we do not remeber the past, we are doomed to repeat it.

Happy Veteran’s Day!!

Friday was my 3rd running day and I have to say it was uneventful. We went running in the midmorning which was a bad idea. It was already too hot! Then after two 1 minute full runs my shins started throbbing again. Not really sure what to do that this point. So we walked the rest of the way home and I rested my legs.
Sorry, not much to say today (that rhymed!)
